NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Many still call it Rutgers Stadium.

But for seven years, the university's football stadium has been known as High Point Solutions Stadium, thanks to a $600,000 annual agreement with a Sparta-based company. But, as the company has shifted its marketing, so has the stadium's name.

So, now, Rutgers is officially home to "HighPoint.com Stadium" for the 2018 football season. You can see the change on River Road in Piscataway, with a new sign at the entrance to the stadium. This naming deal runs through June 30, 2019, with the company able to extend the deal for two more years at $750,000 a year.

University officials say the sponsoring company is responsible for all costs related to the name change.

For purists who wish the university could just forgo the cash and stick with "Rutgers Stadium," perhaps fans are fortunate that the stadium is not named after some other corporations, like:

- Dunkin Donuts Center, Providence, RI

- Taco Bell Arena, Boise, Idaho

- Clipper Magazine Stadium, Lancaster, Pa.

- Whataburger Field, Corpus Christi, TX

- Smoothie King Center, New Orleans

- KFC Yum! Center, Louisville, KY.

- Bojangles Coliseum, Charlotte, N.C.

- Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium, Grand Chute, Wisc.

Hopefully, the latest name change of Rutgers Stadium will not be the high point of the 2018 season.
