Team New Jersey athletes and Unified partners are making their way to Seattle for the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games.
From July 1-6, Team New Jersey will join thousands of Special Olympics athletes and coaches from across the nation, along with tens of thousands of volunteers, family members and fans, for a week of special events and competitions in 14 team and individual sports.
Team New Jersey’s journey at the USA Games begins with the Opening Ceremony on Sunday, July 1, where they will march in the Parade of Athletes in front of thousands of spectators at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium. ABC will broadcast the Opening Ceremony live starting at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET.
ESPN’s evening programs covering the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games will be on ESPN2 each night at 6 p.m. ET (except Wednesday, July 4 – when it will air at 5 p.m.). The Games will also be covered by SportsCenter throughout the week, with daily segments in the SportsCenter AM and 6pm editions focused on the stories, developments and activities from Seattle.
ESPN’s week-long coverage will be rounded out with a one-hour program on ABC Sunday, July 8 at 2 p.m., providing highlights from the Closing Ceremony and highlights from the week of coverage.
