MADISON, NJ - "Touch a Truck" 2016 will arrive on Saturday, July 30, from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Madison Area YMCA parking lot, located at 111 Kings Road.
The space will be filled with a lineup of classic and big rig trucks, as well emergency vehicles will line adjacent Keep Street.
"The Friends of the Madison Public Library will again sponsor this popular family event, in cooperation with the Madison Area YMCA and the Rotary Club. Nothing puts a smile on the face of a child more than sitting in the driver’s seat of a big rig. The truck owners of Madison and the surrounding area make it possible along with the Madison Fire and Police Departments and Ambulance Corps," they said.
The Livingston Police will offer their Child ID Program and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office will bring three emergency vehicles (Bomb Unit, Crash Response, SERP) in addition to their K9 Expedition.
Model trains, Lionel ‘O gauge,’running in an authentic 1928 baggage rail car will be on hand for both adults and children to view.
Simon Mandal will play four 20-minute magic shows held between 11a.m. and 1p.m. The event will feature creative balloon twisting, free face painting, temporary tattoos. and food.
All proceeds will support programs for children, teens and adults at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep St.
Admission for children 0-12, will be $8 for advance purchases postmarked or in-person at the library by Friday, July 23 — and $10 after that date and for same-day purchases. Admission for 13 and up is $5.
