MORRIS COUNTY — Morris County has many people impacted with unemployment after the beginning of the Covid-19 crisis.
Many of our people are laid off. There are many bar and restaurant, hotel employees and people from other sectors impacted by unemployment in our area.
Faced with soaring demand, the department has asked workers to go online at a specific time, based on the last four digits of their Social Security numbers.
- 0000 and 2500 between 8 a.m and 10 a.m.
- 2501 and 5000 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.
- 5001 and 7500 between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
- 7501 and 9999 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
New Jersey workers who lose their jobs through no fault of their own are entitled to 60% of their average weekly pay up to $713 a week.
The federal government stimulus bill approved by the U.S. Senate on Wednesday night may add additional monies per week to the unemployed. Also, there is strong possibility that people making under $75,000 a year will receive a stimulus check of $1,200 in the next few weeks. Couples filing jointly making less than $150,000 are set to receive $2,400.
