LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Friends of the Livingston Library’s annual “Take A Chance on the Library” Auction & Raffle will be ending Tuesday, April 24  when the public is invited to the Library’s Program Room as winners are announced, beginning at noon. The event invites all members of the community to “take a chance on the library” by purchasing 50/50 cash raffle tickets and by biding on some three dozen items in its silent auction.

The silent auction is on display in the Library and has a dedicated website.

“We have tickets for a wide range of places," said Friends President Mary Jane Dough. "Our theater venues include the season finale at Paper Mill Playhouse, a concert by Audra McDonald at NJPAC, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison, Dreamcatchers Rep in Summit, State Theater New Jersey, and several programs in New York City including  the musical revival of Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate starring Kelly O’Hara. In addition, we have tickets for programs ranging from classical music by the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey to Somerset Patriots baseball games to museums including the Morris Museum and the Jewish Museum.”

Dough said that Friends of the Livingston Library is also "delighted that many local restaurants and businesses supported us with gift certificates.”

The auction allows patrons to bid in several ways: in person at the Library, via a dedicated website, via email, and by phone.  Raffle tickets can be purchased using cash, check, or credit card.

“The current payout stands at $2,150 for the lucky winner and we expect it to continue to grow," said Dough. "Winners need not be present to win.”
