Costume Jewelry: a cultural stroll through the decades

Costume Jewelry: A Cultural Stroll Through the Decades offers an overview that highlights how American costume jewelry evolved and changed throughout the decades in 20th century America.

The presenter is Marilyn Visakay, an ASA certified personal property appraiser and financial adviser.

She will discuss (historically) the shapes and materials used and the impact that culture, industrialization, Hollywood and the fashion industry had on American designs, designers and manufacturers.

In this hands-on workshop, the audience will also  specifically learn what characteristics affect desirability in the vintage/antique markets and how to safeguard and preserve their vintage and antique treasures.

Participants are encouraged to bring 1 piece of their own jewelry for identification and discussion as a group.

The program is free and and open to all, but registration is required either via the library calendar at www.livingstonlibrary.org or by calling 9739924600
