Understanding Liver Disease

On the evening of Monday March 9th, starting at 7pm, the Library is presenting a free community health lecture “Understanding Liver Disease” in partnership with the Summit Medical Group.

The liver plays an important role in many bodily functions from protein production and blood clotting to cholesterol, glucose (sugar) and iron metabolism and should it become diseased or injured, the loss of those functions can cause significant damage to the body.

In this presentation by gastroenterologist Dr. Cecilia Minano, you will learn more about the body’s largest gland and the causes, symptoms and effects of liver diseases such as fatty liver and hepatitis on our overall health.

Cecilia Minano, MD MPH is a member of Summit Medical Group’s Gastroenterology team. Dr. Minano has an extensive clinical background in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux, liver diseases, and colon cancer prevention and detection.
