MORRISTOWN, NJ - Mia Cicarelli of Ridgedale Middle School was one of the November students of the month honored by MPAC. She is in the eighth grade and was nominated by Sondra Paulson.

Students from Boonton, New Vernon, Florham Park, Randolph, Kinnelon, Mendham, Parsippany, Morristown and Washington Twp. were honored as Mayo Performing Arts Center's November Music Students of the Month - Outstanding Vocalists -- prior to the Friday, November 8 performance by country star Sara Evans.

The students were recognized for their achievements on stage prior to the concert and had the opportunity to meet Sara Evans.

Students were nominated by their teachers and were chosen by the Theatre's Education Department based on their commitment to and excellence in the performing arts. The Theatre will honor a group of students every month throughout the season and invites area teachers to nominate students for this honor. Students will be invited to perform at a year-end recital in June.

About Mia:
Mia thoroughly enjoys singing and acting.  An 8th grader, Mia is the Vice President of Student Council at Ridgedale Middle School.  She has been a member and soloists of both the RMS Chorus and Select Choirs.  Mia is responsible, talented, and displays positive leadership qualities.  Her stand-out roles in the RMS drama program include Flounder in The Little Mermaid and Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family.  Her outside school experiences include being a member and soloist for the Holy Family Christmas Choir of Florham Park, and performances with the Jerry Gibson Summer Theater.  Mia is also a member of The Theater Next Door company in East Hanover, where she will be competing in musical theatre competitions in the Spring of 2020.
