Florham Park, NJ, - Enrollment is open and coaches are needed for the spring season of Girls on the Run.
During the 10-week-long season, coaches encourage girls to recognize their individual strengths and celebrate connections with others. Girls gain a better understanding of who they are and what's important to them, the value of teamwork and healthy relationships, and how they can have a positive impact on the world. Physical activity is woven into the program to inspire an appreciation for fitness and healthy habits and teach life skills including treating others with care, practicing gratitude, and managing emotions. At the end of the program, girls participate in a 5K run, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment, setting a confident and goal-oriented mindset into motion.
The program in Florham Park is for 3rd-5th grade girls. It meets at the Elm Street Recreation Complex on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:45-6:00 pm beginning March 30.
