EAST HANOVER, NJ - The girls soccer team recorded two road wins over Villa Walsh 1-0 and Mountain Lakes 3-2 to improve their season record to 4-0. Sophia Rafenello tallied the only goal in the Villa Walsh contest on an assist from Hailey Scaff. She also collected a goal in the victory over Mountain Lakes. Goaltender Abby Huang totaled 18 saves in the wins.
Girls Volleyball went 2-2 last week with wins over Villa Walsh and Pequannock while dropping decisions to Dover and Roxbury. Kristin Brokaw had an outstanding performance with 7 kills,6 digs and 4 aces in the win over Pequannock. Team record for the season stands at 4-2.
Girls Tennis went 4-1, improving it's season record to 5-1. Hanover Park defeated Boonton and Whippany Park 5-0 and St Elizabeth 3-2, but fell to Morris Knolls 4-1. In the victory over Boonton the team only lost 3 games and Hailee Posnock secured a 6-1, 6-0 win in her 1st singles match vs St Elizabeth.
Boys Soccer lost games against Morristown Beard 5-2 and Madison 2-1. In both contests Hanover Park held a 1-0 lead at halftime, but could not earn the win. George Nisbet collected a goal in both games.
The Football team played on the road again at West Essex and lost for the 2nd straight week. West Essex built up a 35-14 halftime lead which led to a 49-28 win for West Essex. Hanover Park senior RB Ethan Gayle scored twice on runs of 4 and 35 yards, while Kyle Junda and Michael Filippone also found the end zone on runs of 4 and 3 yards. Joey De Martinis converted all 4 extra Points for the team.
