EAST ORANGE/ORANGE, NJ - For the last 6 years, the Pink Out of the Oranges Cancer walk has truly created an unprecedented partnership between East Orange and Orange. Over the years these two towns have been rivals in sports, education, business, housing and just about every imaginable genre of life; but thanks to Tim and Robyn Brantley of Brantley Brothers Moving and Storage, Speak Life Enterprises, AAngelsNJ, East Orange Mayor Ted Green, Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren and City Council members from both cities, ‘Pink Out’ has become synonymous with unity and cooperation.
In the true spirit of cooperation, the towns negotiate the routes for the event as it rotates from East Orange to Orange and back again. This year the walkers will begin at Elmwood Park in East Orange, walk to Orange (Monte Irving) Park and back to East Orange again.
For certain, one of the unifying aspects of this event is the universal struggle individuals and families experience as the results of dealing with this dreaded disease. Breast cancer has no boundaries, affecting all races, genders, ethnicities and cultures.
The sponsors and organizers of Pink Out of the Oranges invite all area residents to participate, support and join in the “walk for a cure”.
