A Touch of Pride Fundraising Benefit

EAST ORANGE, NJ - On Thursday, March 27th 2014, Shining Schools Inc. will host the first annual “A Touch of Pride” benefit event to raise funds in support of Pride Academy Charter School. 

Shining Schools, Inc. is a foundation committed to supporting the mission and vision of Pride Academy Charter School. 

For the past six years, Pride Academy Charter School has been engaged in the work of empowering middle school students from East Orange, Orange and Newark by providing a positive learning environment focused on academic achievement, student leadership, and philanthropy, all through an emphasis on its foundational core values of peace, respect, integrity, determination, and empathy.

The event will be held at the Orange Lawn Tennis Club in South Orange, NJ from 6-9pm and promises to be an enjoyable evening featuring delicious hors d’oeuvres, enticing silent auction items and a powerful student performance from the scholars of Pride Academy Charter School.

2nd Annual Love & Not Hate March Today in East Orange

EAST ORANGE, NJ - This morning the Rev. Al Sharpton will join East Orange Mayor Ted Green for their 2nd Annual Love & Not Hate March against gun violence at 8:00 AM. 

The March will begin at Hollywood Ave & Central Avenue in East Orange and will work its way to Oval Park. Once at the park there will be youth activities, vendors, music, school give-a-ways and much more.
