BLOOMFIELD, NJ - The Bloomfield Police Department made an arrest in connection with the Monday night stabbing on Dodd Street. A 51 year old man, known to the victim, was arrested without incident at his East Orange home on Tuesday night.
According to the police, Andre Roberts arrived at the home of an acquaintance on Monday night and was allowed entry by a family member. He then proceeded to a back room where the 31 year old victim was sitting, a disagreement took place, at which time Roberts pulled out a folding knife and stabbed the vitim in the chest and leg.
Police were notified of the incident immediately. The incident was captured on the victim's security camera. By the time they arrived at 44 Dodd Street, Roberts had already fled. The victim was treated and released from the hospital for multiple lacerations, which were non-life threatening.
Roberts was charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility awaiting a bail hearing.
