BRHS Football Defeats East Orange in First Round of NJSIAA Tournament

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The undefeated Bridgewater-Raritan High School football team defeated East Orange, 41-14, Friday in the first round of the NJSIAA tournament.

Bridgewater-Raritan's Erick Nickel finished 14 of 18 passes for a total of 263 yards, plus two touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns to help secure the win.

Bridgewater-Raritan took an early lead in the first quarter with six points, before scoring a total of 21 points in the second quarter alone, bringing the score to 27-0 at halftime. Bridgewater-Raritan and East Orange scored a touchdown each in both the third and fourth quarters.

Bridgewater-Raritan will take on Ridge in next week's semifinals.
