EAST ORANGE, NJ - Four distinguished women were honored by Church Women United of the Oranges, during the May Friendship Day Celebration Luncheon at New Hope Baptist Church in East Orange.
Rev. Dwight D. Gill, Pastor of New Hope Baptist encouraged the attendees to “…do not let your title be larger than your service”.
These four (Proverbs 31:30) phenomenal women are all part of a new generation of dynamic Christian women redefining the roles of women and changing Christianity in the process: Laboring increasingly for God, church, family and community. Like another famous First Lady, Michelle Obama, they are not content with being a symbol of status and position, their focus is with things that matter most.
Church Women United (CWU) began as a movement of prayer, action and advocacy by Christian women. It is best known for three annual worship experiences: World Day of Prayer, May Fellowship Day and World Community Day.
