The rally was at the home of the former mayor at 74 Hawthorne Avenue, East Orange NJ. Despite the personal nature of foreclosure and financial crisis, Mayor Cooke thought it important to allow his personal trials to be publicized; letting other residents know that if a former mayor was facing such a dark prospect, anyone can.

At the conclusion of the rally, members of city, county and local neighborhood pledged to do whatever possible to save the Mayor’s home. Ms. Bey pledged to keep fighting for more just foreclosure laws for residents across the state.
