Eagle Flight Academy in East Orange Will Participate in the 2018 New Jersey Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy Camp


EAST ORANGE, NJ - From July 22-27, several aviation organizations are teaming to provide twenty students from Northern New Jersey a first-time introduction to the exciting world of aviation.  

The 2018 New Jersey Aviation Career Education (ACE) Academy is sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration, National Black Coalition of Federal Aviation Employees and Eagle Flight Academy in East Orange, a non-profit organization that helps teenagers earn their private pilot certificate.  

The purpose of the one week STEM program is to introduce middle school students to a wide-variety of aviation careers -- in aeronautics, air traffic control, robotics, and computer science.  Students will experience special behind-the-scenes tours of major airports in the NY / NJ region and an opportunity to fly.

There are more airplanes closer together over the skies of New York and New Jersey than anywhere on earth. Young participants will be inspired to witness these operations up-close and meet the professionals responsible for achieving safety.

Activities will include:

+  Tour of LaGuardia Airport

+  Visit to FAA Research & Development Labs

+  Realistic flight simulators

+  Robotics Laboratory 

+  And a chance to fly with flight instructor

Space is available and limited to 20 students.  

Cost is $50 and lunch will be provided.
