East Orange Alumna Makes Super Bowl Jam

EAST ORANGE, NJ - The NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee selected products from the all-natural jam collection personally made by Kim Osterhoudt, founder and CEO of “Jams By Kim.” The host committee found the Jams By Kim website when it was looking for local products to include in the NFL team owners’ gift (swag) baskets.

The Alternative Press of East Orange caught up with Osterhoudt, obviously in the midst of preparation for the big event, and she graciously stopped to take a momentary stroll down memory lane regarding 'old East Orange." Her exuberance of her product is only surpassed by her love and fond memories of our fair city.

Kim gave testimony to her fondness for the town as she recounted her days at East Orange High School (Class of 1973) and her affinity for making jams. “I grew up on Sanford Street and use to help my grandfather prepare the produce grown in our garden.”  We had apple and peach trees and a variety of vegetables and grapes.  “As a little girl I remember (the adults) letting me add cinnamon sticks to our jams in preparation for canning.”
