EAST ORANGE, NJ – Lance Wigfall continuously reminded his team throughout last week that there was nothing complex to their mission. All they needed to do to move forward from the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) North Jersey Section 2 Group IV Track and Field Championships was to outperform their competition.  That is exactly what Haji Davis, Cory Poole and Damion Thomas of East Orange Campus High School displayed as they realized it was press forward or watch the season end.

The three Jaguars will be competing in the NJSIAA Group IV Track and Field State Championships that will be held at Egg Harbor High School on Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st.

Davis who placed 3rd in the 110 meter hurdles in the sectional meet with a time of 14.95 will run on Friday along with teammate Poole who placed 6th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.34.

Thomas who is a senior entered the sectional meet telling Wigfall, "Coach, I am not getting eliminated.  I'm making it to the Group IV State Championship Meet". Thomas made good on him promise.  He leaped to a school record 6’0” in the high jump to place 4th overall and will represent his school on Saturday.
