EAST ORANGE, NJ The East Orange Campus High School Boys Cross Country team is entering its 2014 postseason campaign with a record of 7-4, which places them as the fourth-ranked team in the Super Essex Conference (SEC) behind Caldwell, Verona and Glen Ridge high schools.

As the Jaguars approach the Super Essex Conference Championship, 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Branch Brook Park in Newark, head coach Lance Wigfall has one thing on his mind; run and compete, run and compete, run and compete.

When asked how did the season pan out for his team? Wigfall replied with a statement he says he borrowed from his former college coach Cyrus Jones at Lincoln University, PA; “consistency breeds greatness."

He also said that as he approached this year's’cross country season, he had to face reality that it would be very difficult to match the 8-1)season that was enjoyed last year. However, Marcus Simon, Cory Poole, and Joshua Simpkins still managed to lead the Jaguars to a respectable season. They have been joined by seniors Gabriel Ajenifuja, Dennis Hawkins, junior Kingsley Nicolas and sophomore Tyron Odum who gave up football and  took on the challenge of becoming one of the  top seven runners on the team.”

The School also showcased a crop of new faces in freshmen Immyouri Etienne, Aaron Louis and Alkeem Lindo who have showed a promising future within the program.
