The City of East Orange Office of Emergency Management is conducting a workshop on emergency preparedness the residents in conjunction the Bethel Presbyterian Church. The workshop is free and open to all but pre-registration is required.
Information will include the need to prepare to be self-sufficient for the first three days of an emergency; what to prepare for; and what resources are available in East Orange.
Emergency Management Coordinator R. David Williams will open the event talking about the biggest weather events that affect our area and what people can do to prepare for them.
There will then be a hands-on workshop and discussion of emergency preparedness topics such as the first 72 hours, sheltering in place versus evacuation, kits, plans, important paperwork and a presentation by the Community Emergency Response Team.
