EAST ORANGE, NJ - Earlier this month TAPinto East Orange/Orange reported that the East Orange General Hospital had been purchased by a California Company named, Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. Today local area pastors and selected clergy; including members of the East Orange Clergy Organization, were invited to an exclusive ‘chat and chew’ session with Otis L. Story, the newly named CEO of the hospital.

The clergy were gathered together by the hospital’s long time resident chaplain/pastor the Reverend Arnold Fox to hear from Mr. Story and to ask questions on behalf of their often anxious and inquisitive parishioners. His address was thorough and intense; with the main emphasis on ‘community’. Though the entity has changed hands, Story assured the leaders that both the name and the commitment to community would remain intact. Moreover, the parent company has pledged in excess of 50 million dollars over the next five years in improvement and upgrades to ensure the hospital is better than its ever been.

The meeting concluded after a robust question and answer period, lead by the pastors and, to the delight of the local area pastors, a surprise visitor Bishop Reginald Jackson formerly pastor of St. Matthew in Orange.
