EAST ORANGE, NJ - Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that the Fugitive Apprehension Team (F.A.T.) has arrested a 17-year old male from East Orange who was wanted for a shooting that occurred on Sunday, January 29, 2017.
Shortly after 10 p.m., a 25-year old Newark male arrived at University Hospital seeking treatment for a non-life threatening shot wound, which detectives determined had occurred in the area of Clinton Avenue and Chadwick Avenues.
Based on their investigation, detectives identified the juvenile suspect in this shooting and a warrant for his arrest was issued.
Today, F.A.T. detectives arrested the youth without incident. He is charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose.
These charges are merely accusations. The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
