EAST ORANGE - In an election year, mid-May is generally considered 'go-time' for any Democratic Party hopeful planning to get the party's support. This year is no exception.
TAPinto East Orange/Orange received a communication from democratic mayoral candidate John Thompson indicating that a debate, sponsored by the PBA, will be held today, Wednesday 7:00 - 9:00 PM May 17th at Peaceful Zion Church 213 Rhode Island Avenue, East Orange, NJ. In speaking to Thompson, he remarked it is his hope that this debate will draw a large audience to hear his position in his bid to become mayor.
At this writing,TAPinto.net was not able to confirm the attendance of the other mayoral hopefuls.
Back on April 3rd these three candidates for East Orange mayor officially filed for the June 6th Democratic Party primary: City Council Chairman and 3rd Ward Councilman Ted Green, John Thompson Jr. and Kenwyn S. Williams.
