“Having Gayle King, a successful, award-winning, African American woman, on our campus is truly an honor. We cannot wait to welcome her to campus and hear what she has to say to our students,” said Jackie Bartley, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Bloomfield College. “This amazing opportunity for our students would not have been possible without the help of our dedicated Board of Trustee member, Jim Axelrod, a CBS colleague of Ms. King. The campus has been buzzing with excitement ever since we announced this event.”

King, a close friend of Oprah Winfrey, has handled a number of high-profile assignments, including reporting from Newtown, Connecticut in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012. She was honored with an Alfred I.
