(EAST ORANGE/ORANGE) - Naturi Naughton, East Orange native, a former member of 3LW, and current star in POWER is giving back to the County she grew up. Her nonprofit organization, Naturi Dreamers Foundation, is partnering up with Southern Comfort, a minority-owned business in Orange, to have 100 free meals a day delivered to Orange residents. This ongoing effort will take place Monday, April 20th through Sunday, April 26th, between the hours of 4 PM- 8 PM. Orange residents are encouraged to place your order 24 hours in advance by calling 973-672-9100.
Servicing Orange is a part of a service series by Naturi as she provided meals to East Orange, Newark, and now Orange using only minority owned businesses.
Naturi is no stranger to never forgetting home, and home not forgetting her. She co-hosted East Orange’s popular arts festival known as MAC Fest. Naturi reached out to Cicely Tyson School alum and fashion designer, Kyemah Mcentyre to make her dress for the BET Awards. She is an inductee in the East Orange Hall of Fame, and in 2016, she received the Althea Gibson Leadership Award from the County of Essex. Here at TAPinto East Orange/Orange, we salute Naturi for her willingness to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
