House Music Pioneer CeCe Rogers to Perform at MAAHF Celebration, June 4

MONTCLAIR, NJ - House music pioneer CeCe Rogers will be performing at the 27th Montclair African American Heritage Foundation (MAAHF) Festival on June 4th at Nishuane Park in Montclair.

The international singer, musician, and producer best known as one of the artists who helped establish house music, will perform from 3-4pm, according to the singer's website. 

A native of Cleveland Ohio, Rogers can move effortlessly from playing piano at an R&B club, to playing organ at a sanctified gospel church to a swinging house club in Europe.

A legend in the house music movement, Rogers was nicknamed CeCe by James Brown himself. Throughout his career, he has worked with many artists and producers including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Janet Jackson, David Morales, Sounds of Blackness,Duran Duran, Jestofunk, to name a few.

Nishuane Park is located at 48 High St, Montclair. The MAAHF is part of a day-long celebration of African American Heritage and Culture starting with a meet and greet on Friday night, parade kickoff of Saturday followed by food, music and more.
