Job Fair Tomorrow Featuring Large and Small Employers


NEWARK, NJ - Metropolitan Baptist Church will host it's 2017 FALL CAREER FAIR tomorrow, Thursday, October 12 from 10 a.m. - 2 the church, located at 149 Springfield Avenue, Newark. The Job Fair will feature major employers including NJ Transit, FedEx, Home Depot, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, Waste Management, Blue Cross Blue Shield, NJ, TD Bank, New York Community Bank, Santander, Lincoln Heritage and more.  A full list of employers can be found at

Every year, participants walk away with new connections, information and in some cases employment, according to Reverend Dr. David Jefferson, Sr.  "It is our goal to continue to be a resource of information to connect people to work and opportunity, which is why the job fair is one of our signature programs."

Metropolitan Baptist Church (MBC) has one of the area's most engaged job fairs.  In addition to bringing employers together, the church also held a career fair Prep Session Workshop that included; "The Perfect Pitch" to help you learn how to market yourself in minutes; a resume writing workshop, interviewing techniques and how to dress for success.  

The MBC Employment Ministry encourages people to come dressed to meet employers and to bring copies of your resume.  Pre-registered guests can arrive at 10 a.m., on site registration and walk-in registration begins at 11 a.m.
