EAST ORANGE, NJ - Mayor Lester E. Taylor, along with with his wife and family, hosted their first annual Mayoral Ball Saturday evening at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel to what appeared to be a “sold-out” audience.

The celebration was upbeat and festive; beginning with the mayor’s short opening remarks where he reiterated his election theme, “Started from the bottom now we're here, started from the bottom now my whole team’s here,” an adaptation of the rapper Drake’s song of the same title.

Immediately following his welcome, he and his wife took to the dance floor for a “first dance” where literally hundreds accompanied the couple with a DJ and live band.

Numerous dignitaries were in attendance, including some of the state and county’s top elected officials. In addition to the political elite, the celebration was riddled with a number of business professionals, religious leaders and community personalities.
