EAST ORANGE, NJ - East Orange resident and Kean University student Tykime Davis (first from left), was one of eight attendees invited to participate to experience sitting at the PIX11 Anchor Desk (at least for one day). 

Kean University students recently toured PIX 11’s New York studios. The students met with the station’s news director, on-air talent, the marketing team and a producer. Students also had the opportunity to tour the control room and learn about the modern technology and equipment used at the station. Tykime join the NYC tours/seminars offered as part of Kean University's INSIDE TV course.

Premiere Stages at Kean University has solidified a partnership with the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television of Arts and Sciences to offer “Inside Television,” an accredited class which provides Kean arts majors with the opportunity to interact with television professionals. Students enrolled in the course visit the NY NATAS headquarters and gain practical knowledge from renowned speakers. Students are also afforded the opportunity to tour NYC television studios. Students who excel in the program are recommended for internships with NATAS affiliated networks.
