MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Office Beer Bar and Grill will permanently close at the end of service on Sunday, December 1, officials announced.
For decades, The Office, located at 619 Bloomfield Ave., has been a popular local meeting place for members of Montclair and surrounding communities, including East Orange. Not only have patrons been able to have a hearty meal, but on weekends, it has even become somewhat of a nightclub, complete with live DJ entertainment.
This week, owners took to Facebook to write the following announcement to the community, "We have appreciated being part of the Montclair community for so many years. Our staff and managers have been given the opportunity to relocate to one of our other area restaurant concepts."
Though The Office is closing its doors, it appears that the owners have other plans to open an establishment elsewhere in town.
General Manager Robert Davies, joined the parent company that owns The Office, 40North Restaurants, in 2017 and took over the reins as General Manager for the Office Beer Bar and Grill in Montclair in 2018.
He has expressed that they are looking into moving to a new location within Montclair in the near future.
They continued, "As Montclair truly feels like home, we are in the process of exploring other spaces in town in the hopes of opening one of our 40NORTH Restaurant locations in the near future. We hope that the community will join us during our last week of service to help us properly say goodbye and to celebrate all of the good times we have had together over the years."
