EAST ORANGE, NJ - Men Make A Difference (M²AD) a West Orange based company will honor Milton Hobbs, Owner/Editor of TAPinto East Orange/Orange at its Community Service Recognition Brunch on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church Conference Center, 93 Liberty Street, Long Branch, NJ. 

In addition to being the Owner/Editor of TAPinto East Orange/Orange, Hobbs is also the Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship in Clark, New Jersey and is employed by the City of East Orange as the Community Development Manager where he is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), Shelter Plus Care Grants and Homelessness Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), Weed & Seed Program and internal grants administration. He has also been devoted to Community Service for over 30 years and is the founder of The Civic Cares Community Foundation (3CF), a tax-exempt public charity serving thousands of people who share a common interest by improving the quality of life. 3CF encourages individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to collaborate to create permanent charitable funds that help our region meet the challenges of these changing times.

Hobbs will be celebrated with fourteen other Men from the State of New Jersey.

The event has been designed to recognize Men who have distinguished themselves as Fathers, Surrogate Fathers and Mentors through their families, in their communities, and their own lives. The celebration will be conducted in collaboration with the Greater Long Branch NAACP.

It will also feature Thabiti Boone, President Obama’s Representative on Fatherhood and Mentoring as the keynote speaker.

Proceeds will benefit the W.E.B. DuBois Economic Development Corporation, Long Branch New Jersey, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax exempt registered community organization.
