Montclair African American Parade and Festival Set for June 3


MONTCLAIR, NJ - The Montclair African American Heritage foundation (MAAHF) will celebrate 28 years with its annual Parade and festival on Saturday, June 3, 2017.  

Autumn Turner, contestant from 'The Voice' will perform along the parade route.

This year MAAHF adopts the Adinkra Symbol , translated meaning : "To build and maintain our own stores, shops, and other businesses and profit from them together."

June 2, 2017 kicks off the celebration with its annual memories dance held at  Montclair High school ,
George Inness cafeteria for a night of comedy ,Dance ,Meet and greet 8pm-12am , Entertainment; comedians Glenn Sellers and Joann Childs -Ashe

June 3, 2017  Parade and Festival
Starting at  Glenfield Park Maple Ave ,Bloomfield Ave , Elm Street ,  orange Road ,cedar avenue ending at Nishuane Park .

William Monroe-  Staff Seargent among soldiers to meet French General Charles de Gaulle  

Clarence Wilson - Corporal in the 3404th Quarter Master Truck Company, US Army  

Joined by more than 60 Groups and organizations marching the Bloomfield Ave corridor ending at Nishuane Park for an afternoon of entertainment,  Children's activities, vendors, food and reunion.
