EAST ORANGE, NJ - A school bus packed with students engaged in a multi-vehicle crash last Wednesday afternoon in East Orange, New Jersey. Around 4 pm, the school bus slammed into a guardrail on Interstate 280 after a collision with three other vehicles. Six students from the bus were transported to a local hospital for treatment, and multiple victims sustained minor personal injuries.

Although school buses are used daily to transport children to and from school, they are vulnerable in motor vehicle accidents since they generally do not contain safety features like air bags; they offer little protection to occupants in a bus accident, which may lead to a variety of injuries as well as potential fatalities.
