NJ Sharing Network Appoints East Orange Resident to Prominent Post

EAST ORANGE, NJ - The New Jersey Sharing Network has appointed East Orange resident, Ashlee Davis, to the position of Funeral Home and Medical Examiner Liaison. 

In this new role, Ms. Davis will work in conjunction with all Funeral Directors and Medical Examiners providing education and collaboration during the donation process. The FH/ME Liaison will serve as the organization’s expert in mortuary science and reconstructive practices.

Ms. Davis graduated from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia. Following graduation, Ashlee pursued a residency at Elcock Funeral Home, Inc. in Queens, NY and later became a Licensed Funeral Director. In this position, Ms. Davis had the opportunity to work very closely with families providing mortuary services post donation. Ms. Davis is trained in Embalming, Restorative Art, and Airbrush Make-Up. She serves as a member of the Funeral Home Association in NY.

NJ Sharing Network is a non-profit, federally designated organ procurement organization committed to saving and enhancing lives through the miracle of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. They are responsible for the recovery of organs and tissue for the nearly 5,000 New Jersey residents currently awaiting transplantation. They are also part of the national recovery system, which is in place for the more than 122,000 people on waiting lists.

2nd Annual Love & Not Hate March Today in East Orange

EAST ORANGE, NJ - This morning the Rev. Al Sharpton will join East Orange Mayor Ted Green for their 2nd Annual Love & Not Hate March against gun violence at 8:00 AM. 

The March will begin at Hollywood Ave & Central Avenue in East Orange and will work its way to Oval Park. Once at the park there will be youth activities, vendors, music, school give-a-ways and much more.
