ORANGE, NJ - The Housing Authority of the City of Orange (HACO) is inviting all job seekers to the Job Fair at the Walter G. Alexander Community Center on Wilson Place Tuesday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a rain date of Tuesday, June 19.
“The Job Fair brings together job seekers and employers to produce a more economically viable community that’s good for everyone,” said Dr. Walter McNeil, HACO’s Executive Director. “Working families are the backbone for the City of Orange, and it is so important that we support them anyway we can.”
The Job Fair has the dual goal of partnering qualified applicants with local businesses for their mutual benefit. The event seeks to foster self-sufficiency for working families while creating successful workplaces. In addition to the vendors, the Job Fair features indoor and outdoor activities, making it a true community event.
New Community Corporation will conduct a workshop on Financial Literacy and M & T Bank will host one on Homeownership. In addition, attendees will have to opportunity to register to vote.
“Ultimately, the Job Fair is about building strong families that in turn creates vibrant, healthy communities,” explains Susan Moore, Family Self Sufficiency Coordinator at HACO. “By helping families gain employment, we are taking positive steps toward making our neighborhoods more resilient and economically more productive.”
Applicants should dress for success, that is, in appropriate business attire, and bring an updated resume.
