EAST ORANGE, NJ - The City of East Orange is hosting its 2nd Annual East Orange MACFest (Music + Arts + Culture) on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 12pm-8pm at 44 City Hall Plaza, East Orange, NJ.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include live music on two performance stages, an arts, accessories and culinary marketplace with over 50 local food, art and culture vendors, a beer, wine and sangria garden and a Kidz Korner featuring the Montclair Museum Art Truck.

The festival, hosted by hip hop pioneer Rah Digga, will feature headline performances by R&B vocalists Vivian Green, Sunshine Anderson, and Aaron Camper, house music singer Roxanna Lynn, 8-year-old guitar prodigy Marel Hildago, the Caribbean sounds of Ekklipse Steel Band, the Above Ground Project, Chicc the Comedian, along with music provided by WBLS’s DJ Jon Quick, DJ Omar Abdallah, and DJ Freeze. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

“Our city is successfully undergoing an urban renewal fueled by a growing arts and culture scene right in the heart of our Transit Village. This festival is a wonderful combination of what East Orange is and what it has the potential to be,” said Mayor Lester E. Taylor III. “We are hoping to attract festival lovers from across the region to experience East Orange!”

MACFest is an evolution of the Summer Solstice Festival that was previously held in 2014 conjunction with the Urban Essex Coalition and the cities of Newark and Orange Township. 

Festival goers will be treated to an eclectic marketplace with a wide variety of vendors from entrepreneurs throughout the area.

The inaugural festival held last June featured Global Artist Sensation Vinx, New Jersey-based Soul Rockers The Band Called FUSE and Guest Host Vinnie Brown, East Orange native and member of the Grammy Award-Winning Rap Group Naughty By Nature.
