Ambrose reports that members of the Police Special Enforcement Bureau (S.E.B.) arrested Sherome Hubbard, 20, of Newark, and Malcolm Jones-Carter, 21, of East Orange, for possession of a loaded .45 caliber handgun on Wednesday, November 9, 2016.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., detectives patrolling the 200-block of Fairmount Avenue observed a man crouching and hiding behind a brick wall on a porch of a residence. A second man was with him, but remained standing.

When S.E.B. detectives approached, they heard the sound of metal hitting against the porch and observed the handgun, in plain view, on the opposite side of the wall.
