Students Demand Action to host 'Day of Action' on Columbine Anniversary at Brookdale Park

Students Demand Action Essex County will host “April 20 Day of Action: Gun Reform Education Fair” to educate and inform local students about the need for gun reform in our nation, inspire them to be activists, and honor the anniversary of the Columbine High School shooting.

The April 20 event will take place in at Brookdale Park (lower field by Bellevue entrance) in Bloomfield from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Students Demand Action Essex County is a student-led group involving students from multiple towns in Essex County. The group assembled to organize political action, protest, and education in favor of common sense gun reform. At the Day of Action event, there will be student-run tables with information on gun violence, how to continue activism, and letter-writing to Congress.

Students can register to vote at the fair to advance their political participation.The fair will include brief comments from area student leaders and live music performed by student musicians.

There will be representatives from area advocacy groups including Moms Demand Action and providing students with information and volunteer opportunities
