ORANGE, NJ – Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren spoke openly about his first term in office, as well as his current bid for re-election during an interview with Tapinto East Orange/Orange Managing Editor during an exclusive interview.

We know all too well that the daily schedule of an urban mayor is jammed packed with a myriad of meetings and public appearances; and this schedule becomes even more challenging when that mayor is running for re-election. So, we are extremely grateful that Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren graciously granted TAPinto East Orange/Orange exclusive interview privileges on Live Radio (95.9 FM) to speak to him on a number of subjects important to our community.

The Mayor was open about the challenges of running the city. He spoke extensively about the work of educating our children, delivering essential services to families and addressing the very specific needs of seniors and special populations.

During the interview Mayor Warren announced he is indeed vying for re-election, while at the same time managing the task of running this very busy and important city. He laid out his plan for the future of the town and was surprising transparent about those things he would have liked to have completed already.

The interview took a dramatic turn when we asked him about the impact of family in administering his duties as mayor.  Warren was direct and frank, and made no bones about the fact that his family is the most important accomplishment in his life. He spoke in glowing term about his wife, Dr. Karma Warren and their two children Dwayne Jr and Nia Simone.

You could easily hear the pride the mayor has for his wife, who we discovered is an emergency medicine doctor in Newark and is affiliated with Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System. She is one of 7 doctors at Veterans Affairs New Jersey Health Care System who specialize in Emergency Medicine.

Stay tuned to TAPinto East Orange/Orange for a complete transcript of the interview as well as an audio version.
