The ChangeMakers Show Talks Community & Martial Arts with Shihan Aaron J. Walker


EAST ORANGE, NJ - Shihan Aaron J. Walker is Chief Instructor and owner of AJW Martial Arts Academy and Fitness Center, located in Orange, New Jersey. He is a full time professional martial artist who has dedicated his life to teaching children and adult’s martial arts excellence at all levels.Shihan Walker, born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, received his Black Belt in the art of Shito Ryu (Japanese Karate) in 1975, under the instruction of Master Ibrahim Shariff, Master Larry Hazzard and Master Bernard Truesdale.

Shihan is continuing a martial arts legacy with compassion, enthusiasm, professionalism and innovation in the vision and spirit of the times in which we live. He has trained with world renowned martial artist such as, Professor Ronald Duncan, the late Professor Moses Powell, Professor David B. James, the late Professor Vee, Master Joe Lewis, Master Michael Depasquale just to name a few. 

Shihan is a certified member of NAPMA (National Association of Professional Martial Artists). He  holds a 6th Degree Black Belt, with over 40 years of training in the arts of Shito Ryu Karate, Jitsu, Aiki-Jitsu, Koga-Ryu, Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Kickboxing, Kobu-Jitsu and Street Smart/Close Quarters Self-Defense proficiency.

Shihan’s other skills and activities are: Self-Defense Consultant for Major Corporations, Law Enforcement, Motivating Speaking and Martial Arts Business Consultation. SAG/Stuntman (credits “American Most Wanted,” “Showtime” (cable), Music Videos (stunt double) and low budget movies.

Shihan has brought a whole new level of professionalism to the martial arts by enhancing our community and its citizens through the personal development skills of his training. To provide a safe haven of positive energy and support for his student’s mental and physical growth. By providing inspiration of personal excellence through his example as a Black Belt in and out of the training hall and by providing legendary service to his clients.

Walker’s organization is a complete training facility, structured for all fitness levels and martial arts enthusiast seeking a total mental and physical workout.

The ChangeMakers Show as been making waves since it aired in October of 2015. Each week it features politicians, entertainers, filmmakers, and entrepreneurs alike along with other very notable guests.

The co-hosts Royston Allman, Rebecca Saint Louis, Eric Perryman, and Queen Aaminah

bring a combined twenty years of experience in broadcasting. Every Saturday you can hear them engaging in enlightening discussions with news-makers from across the country and abroad about the issues of the day.
