The East Orange Education Foundation Announces Winners of the18th Intergenerational Community Spelling Bee

East Orange Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kevin West joins East Orange Education Foundation President Mrs. Goldie T. Burbage at the 18th Annual Intergenerational Community Spelling Bee

EAST ORANGE, NJ - The 18th Intergenerational Community Spelling Bee -- presented by the East Orange Education Foundation (EOEF) was held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the East Orange Campus High School Auditorium. 

Approximately 15 teams competed ranging from grades 1-12 including one adult team.

The winners were as follows in each category --

Level 1 Grade 1 Bowser Bees won first Place and Garvin Bee Squad was runner- up

Level 2 Grades 2-3 brought a tie for first place between all three teams -- 

Bowser Bees 2 

Garvin Spell Casters

Langston Hughes Bee Superstars

Level 3 Grades 4-5

Carver's Princess Bees won first place while the Jackson Bee Keepers and   Bowser Bees 3 teams were runners - up

Level 4 Grades 6-8 The Stem Buzzers won first place while the Tyson Trailblazers were runners - up

Level 5 Grades 9-12 was a showdown between the Members of the Campus High Queen Bee & 2 Kings Team -- the winners was Imani McDermott while Oscar Puryear and Quentin Edrington were runners - up

In the adult category -- the EO Fire Department 'The Flames' team was awarded first place while the East Orange Police Department's 'The E.O.P.D. Word Warriors' was runner - up.
