Dear Property Owner,

I hope your summer is off to a fine start. As you enjoy the months ahead with family and friends, I encourage you to experience the beauty of Orange by exploring our fine cuisine at local restaurants, visiting our parks, shopping our business districts and exploring the outdoors to experience the best of Orange. As you discover Orange, know that my administration will continue to focus on providing a better quality of life for all residents by enhancing public safety, attracting more mixed use economic development, and improving recreational opportunities for youth, seniors and families.

The attached chart illustrates how your tax payment is allocated. Your property taxes are a function of the cost to run the City's day-to-day operations. Note that the municipal budget portion of your tax bill consists of 68% of your overall bill. In this difficult economic environment, I am working diligently on your behalf to contain property taxes as much as possible while State Aid remains flat.

At the May 16, 2017 Council Meeting, the Orange Municipal Council approved a long overdue water and sewer rate adjustment to address general maintenance and capital infrastructure improvements.

I want to assure you that we are doing our best to be good stewards of your tax dollars and to provide quality government services in the most efficient way possible. The challenge of stabilizing the Municipal portion of your tax bill is important to me. As my Administration continues to do more with less, it is my commitment to hold the line on rising costs by consolidating departments, searching for competitive prices for goods and services and outsourcing fewer services.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I encourage you to visit our website to stay up to date on the various activities, programs and infrastructure improvements taking place including my fall neighborhood walking tour and citywide downhill meetings schedule. Also, please sign up to receive alerts and updates, on the City of Orange Township website at: www.ci.orange.nj.us. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your support.

Yours in Service,

Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, Esq.
