We’re coming to the end of our article series on the benefits of laughter as therapy to help with your physical and mental health. It can lower stress and propel you to success.
Now that we've covered the many benefits of laughter, it’s time to think about how to add more laughter to your life every day.
Ways to Laugh More Every Day
1. Watch comedy shows and movies
They are the easiest way to get a chuckle.
2. Laugh at yourself
Enjoy some play time. Do some laughter yoga exercises.
3. Play with family and friends
If you have children, take time to play with them every day. They can help capture the child-like joy of living and the spirit of fun. If you don’t have children, spend time with friends and loved ones who make you feel good about life.
4. Have fun at work
Foster good relations with others at work. Laughter can create a very positive and productive atmosphere and support teamwork. Time flies when you are having fun.
5. Visit a comedy club
This is a great way to get out of the house and it supports aspiring comedians, who love to have an audience and get feedback about their work.
6. Watch comedy greats on YouTube
Enjoy a five-minute break with comedy greats like Monty Python, The Two Ronnies, Richard Pryor, and George Carlin.
7. Listen to comedy radio
This is a great way to pass the time as you commute back and forth to work.
8. Watch topical comedians
Try Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Bill Maher for well-observed comedy about our lives today.
9. Create a Pinterest board and collect funny memes
There are lots of great memes being created all the time. Clip them on a Pinterest board and add to it every day.
10. Spend time with your pet
They will also do something that will make you laugh. Don’t have a pet? Treat yourself to funny pet videos on YouTube.
11. Read fun books and comics
You’re bound to find something to laugh out loud about.
12. Listen to music and dance
Dance like there’s no one watching. Have fun with it. Belly dancing can be fun too and be very liberating and empowering. Or you might like to try the New Zealand haka to boost your mood.
Laughter really can be the best medicine, so if you want to boost your health both mentally and physically, focus on adding laughter to your life - including through laughter yoga and laughter therapy, and see what a difference it can make to your health.
To your best life!
