Tony Mitchelson Returns to East Orange Library’s Cultural Café

EAST ORANGE, NJ - Poet and writer Tony Mitchelson returns to the East Orange Public Library Cultural Café this month to read excerpts from his soon to be released book “Stoop Tales” on Thursday, December 17 at 6:00 pm in the East Orange Room at the Main Library (located at 21 South Arlington Avenue). The evening will start with a session of Open Mic.

Born in New York City and raised in Harlem, Tony Mitchelson currently resides in Newark, New Jersey. He is already the author of a book of poems entitled “Linyak Love.” His writings have been published in African Voices magazine, Blind Beggar Press Collector’s Edition Anthology, and Black Works. Mitchelson is co-founder of The Linyak Project, an arts, culture and education organization aimed at highlighting, uplifting and encouraging people to become involved giving back to the community.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of cultural and Historic Affairs and is being generously sponsored by  PNC Bank and the Friends of East Orange Public Library.
