EAST ORANGE, NJ - Community Farmers Markets are seasonal markets where consumers can buy produce and other agricultural products directly from New Jersey farmers. The City of East Orange has deemed every Tuesday through October as our Community Farmer’s Market Day.
According to The New Jersey Department of Agriculture farmers markets have been around since the 1700s; but people lost interest in the markets in the 1950s, when supermarkets began popping up across the state. However, recently shoppers have become more interested in local produce; knowing the stories behind where their food comes from.
The East Orange Farmer’s Market will host local growers, popular food truck venders, activities for the kids, music and more every Tuesday from 12:00 - 7:00 PM August 8th through October 31st.
The ‘Market’ is sponsored by Mayor Lester Taylor, East Orange City Council, East Orange Department of Planning & Development in partnership with the East Orange YMCA.
