EAST ORANGE, NJ - The Young People of East Orange, ages 18 to 35 formed a Political Action Committee (PAC) through which they intend to impact the political decisions that affect their lives. The group currently has 80+ members. The founding members are lifelong residents of the City, many of whom attended the East Orange Public School System, went away to college and returned home hoping to make a difference in the City they love.

The organization has been in the planning stages for quite some time. When it was noted that Ted Green was the East Orange Democratic Party Candidate for Mayor the organization took life. Akeem Cunningham, a former 1st Ward City Council candidate said, “We, at long last have a person we can relate to and trust that our concerns will be considered. Our organization fully support and endorse Ted Green for Mayor. He has been a change maker in this community for many years. Growing up in this community we have watched Ted’s tireless efforts to improve the quality of life for the residents of all ages. Ted has always had a passion for serving, mentoring and enlightening the youth. We look forward to working with and supporting Ted Green.”

“We also support the top of the Democratic ticket, Ted’s running mates; Phil Murphy for Governor, Sheila Oliver and Tom Giblin for Assembly. The group has held fund raisers and the membership has grown significantly.”  The group is proud to present a check in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000) to the Mayoral candidate this evening. Membership is open to all young people who reside in the City and wish to be involved.
