Michael Jean Baptiste has been a long time resident of Orange and continues to fight for what’s right. He has established many businesses and contributed to the growing culture. As a former city employee, he enjoyed the times spent working with the seniors and donating to various events. His interest in civic engagement has been proven through past campaigns. He is determined and vocal about change. Jean Baptiste also educates his children within the Orange Public School District. He shares the concerns of parents, the Caribbean community and business owners.
As Mayor, Michael Jean Baptiste will propose:
1. Protecting Orange by cutting property taxes by up to 3% and granting our homeowners the ability to afford their family home. Supporting the older and younger generations by pledging 50% of his salary to the City of Orange for new technology and Senior Services.
2. Employ more police officers to decrease crime and ensure safety for the community.
3. Provide off-street parking by turning empty lots into parking spaces for visitors and residents. Supply free shuttle service for all Orange residents to Highland Avenue and Orange train stations.
4. Promote Senior health by offering wellness checks and a free food program.
