Dwayne D. Warren, Esq., was elected Mayor of the City of Orange Township in 2012, after serving as an Orange Municipal Court Judge and City Council Legislative Research Officer. Mayor Warren was also an Adjunct Professor in Para-Legal Studies at Essex County College and has lectured at William Paterson University on Racism and the Law. Currently, Mayor Warren is a litigation attorney in private practice.  He is also a trusted legal advisor to elected and appointed officials on every level of government. 

Warren is a member of the Democratic Party, having served on the local legal corps of the National Democratic Convention since 1996. In 2008, Warren received credentials for the historic nomination of Barack Obama for President.   As an election law attorney, Warren has challenged restrictive voting policies that hurt senior citizens and persons with disabilities.   

Mayor Warren is sought after for his expertise in municipal operations, economic development, and public entity law.  He demonstrated skilled leadership when he successfully made the case to the Governor for increased education funding to Orange and secured federal Opportunity Zone designation paving the way for private investment in Orange.  Warren is also recognized as a key municipal leader by the U.S. Congressional delegation as Orange was awarded funding for new law enforcement officers and quality home and commercial development.  

Mayor Warren has been married to Dr. Karma Warren for the past 20 years.  Dr. Karma Warren is a graduate of historic Tuskegee University and is a Level I trauma doctor.  They are the proud parents of Dwayne, a junior at Howard University and Nia, a freshman at Harvard University. The Warrens are members of the NAACP, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Links, Inc., and other charitable organizations.
