A Candle Light Vigil for All Community Members Who Died from COVID-19

COVID-19 robbed so many things from our community, none more precious than the lives of our loved ones. With this in mind, on Thursday, October 28th, Assemblywoman Britnee N. Timberlake and clergy will be hosting a candlelight vigil outside her NJ State Office to honor the lives lost due to COVID-19. "Because of social distancing and memorial restrictions, many of our loved ones who died did not receive a proper send-off, and families were restricted from mourning together" said Timberlake. Residents are asked to bring photos and signs with their loved ones' names on them. On-site, there will be a sign-in sheet where you can submit the name(s) of your deceased to be read aloud from the podium. You will also have an opportunity to write the name(s) and a message to your loved one(s) on slips of paper to be placed inside a memorial box that will be housed inside the NJ State Office indefinitely. All residents of District 34 (East Orange, Orange, Clifton, and Montclair) and beyond are welcome to participate in this event. Please feel free to contact the Office of Assemblywoman Britnee N. Timberlake should you have any questions. Vaccines will be available on site. The event will be outdoors; masks are encouraged. The office is located at 520 Main Street, East Orange, NJ on the corner of Main and Prospect Streets.
